Brief Biographical Sketch:

I grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan and recently moved to the Bay area after marrying my college sweetheart. We met at the University of Michigan where I completed my undergraduate degree in Cellular Molecular Biology. Following that, I attended Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit and received my M.D. Staying in Detroit, I finished my residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit in 2009 and then joined the Loma Vista Ob/Gyn Medical Group in San Jose, CA.

Growing up with four sisters, and no brothers, inspired my interest in women's health and since then it has become one of my passions. In college, I founded the Young Asian Women's Health Organization (YAWHO) to encourage the Asian American community to take an active role in their health care. YAWHO organized guest speaker events, published a health column for a campus magazine, and collaborated with other ethnic and health organizations to raise health awareness. During medical school at Wayne State University, I participated in a similar program that focused on educating adolescents about sexually transmitted infections, HIV, and contraception. These experiences helped me realize which health issues I would like to treat in my own patients, such as infertility and contraception, and confirmed my decision to be involved with health care for women. I look forward to starting new and lasting relationships with my patients and colleagues at Loma Vista.

Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, reading, yoga, music, dancing, karaoke, origami and watching football and basketball. I can speak Mandarin Chinese conversationally, and I look forward to practicing my medical Chinese in the near future.
