Are there any permission slips required for attendance at Splash?

Yes, per Stanford’s Protection of Minors policies and California state law, there are items that participants must submit prior to their participation in Splash. They are listed below. Note that the methods of submission vary from item-to-item:

  • All parents must sign a liability waiver through Stanford’s electronic Protection of Minors (ePOM) portal. This waiver will be sent by email to the parent email address associated with your student’s account on this website. The waiver must be signed electronically through the ePOM portal. If you have not received this email, please let us know.
  • All participants must complete the medical information form. This cannot be submitted electronically. Please bring a printed copy of this form to check-in the morning of Splash.
  • Bring an up-to-date student ID.
As always, please reach out to stanfordesp@gmail.com if you have any questions about forms or testing requirements.

How involved should I be in the class selection process?

Splash is a great opportunity for students to experience a taste of the life of a college student. One important tenet of our program is to enable students to explore their own intellectual curiosities. Therefore, we highly encourage letting your child pick their own classes.

Day-Of Logistics

Student check-in begins at 9am on Saturday. Check-in will be at Lomita Mall. Please see this page for directions and parking/dropoff information. Students MUST check in before they can attend their classes. This allows us to verify that students have completed all the required forms. Students will not know their classroom locations until they have fully checked in.

Classes will run from 10am-5pm each day. Students will get their class information at check-in.

Are parents allowed at Splash?

On the day of the event, we do not allow parents to shadow their child or sit in on classes. This gives students the opportunity to freely explore topics that interest them and interact with other students. Exceptions to the no-parent policy will be made for children who have learning disabilities. Please email stanfordesp@gmail.com ahead of the event for an exception.

Payment:
Please create an ePay account here: Link
The $50 fee covers food and programmatic expenses (not T-shirts).

Donate to Splash!

Splash is a Voluntary Student Organization (VSO) of Stanford University. All our members are student volunteers and we are partially funded by Stanford, which allows us to keep our program costs low. If you are willing to do so, you can elect to donate to Splash or our parent organization Learning Unlimited. These contributions are optional but are incredibly helpful in supporting Splash at Stanford and other Splash programs around the country.
