Brief Biographical Sketch:

I am a clinical research coordinator through the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center in the Department of Neurology here at Stanford. I hope to become a cognitive neuroscientist in the future who studies memory and neurodegeneration. I am also a data journalist for the Stanford Daily and am passionate about communicating science to the public.

H7681: Communicating Science through Data Visualization and Journalism in Splash Virtual Fall 2021 (Nov. 13 - 14, 2021)
The pandemic has shown us many things, but one of the most important things it has shown is how important effective science communication is. A way journalists and scientists alike can be better at sharing this information to the public is through simple and intriguing data visualizations and explanations that are straightforward and concise. This class will walk through the importance of this idea and will provide interactive activities providing hands on data visualization demonstrations and data journalism techniques.
