Brief Biographical Sketch:
Kim came to Stanford after earning her PhD in Biochemistry and Cell Biology at Rice University. Since attending college she has continued to be involved in mentoring and student advising activities, including co-creating the Rice University IBB Girls STEM Initiative, which allowed her to mentor high school girls for a span of 3 years. Kim wants to make an impact in her community and encourage young women and Hispanics to pursue careers in the STEM fields. Not only does she love science, but she also loves sports and constantly supports her Aggies, Spurs, Astros, and Texans!
