Brief Biographical Sketch:

Jon is a PhD student working in the materials science & engineering department at Stanford. His thesis research focuses on nanoscience - specifically how metallic nanoparticles can be used to make ultrasensitive chemical detectors and tunable optical materials. He has co-taught SPLASH classes for the past 3 years focusing on the interaction of light and matter.
