E2442: Designing Earthquake Safe Buildings in Splash! Fall 2012 (Nov. 03 - 04, 2012)
Students will get an introduction to the various engineering disciplines that are involved in building design. This will be followed by an introduction to the field of structural engineering. Finally students will learn how basic structural engineering techniques are used to design buildings that can withstand earthquakes.


E1966: An Introduction to Earthquake Resistant Design in Splash! Spring 2012 (Apr. 21 - 22, 2012)
The course will introduce students to basic concepts that are used in the design of earthquake resistant buildings.


E1037: Introduction to Structural Engineering in Splash! Fall 2010 (Nov. 13 - 14, 2010)
This presentation will describe the major roles of structural engineers, how they fit within the construction industry, what structural engineers typically work with, and how students can prepare for the engineering field.
