P1706: Handmade Air Cannons and Physics of Smoke Rings in Splash! Fall 2011 (Oct. 29 - 30, 2011)
Have you ever seen people making smoke rings and wondered how that is possible? Have you ever wanted an air cannon to freak friends out on Halloween? Come to this class to learn about smoke rings and to make your own air cannons. "Fluid dynamics" sounds difficult but not this class. You won't be ask to solve any complicated equation, but instead, you will learn many useful concepts in fluid dynamics while enjoying the handmade air cannon fun!

P1407: A Liquid You May Walk On: The Non-Newtonian Fluid in Splash! Spring 2011 (Apr. 16 - 17, 2011)
Have you ever thought about walking on a liquid? It is possible! In this class we will introduce you the so-called "non-Newtonian fluid," which behaves differently from normal fluid such as water. And it's unique behaviors make it possible to walk on a non-Newtonian fluid! We will show you how to make a non-Newtonian fluid, and let you do some interesting experiments with your hand-made non-Newtonian fluid in class.
