S2104: If God Is Good, Why Is There So Much Suffering in the World? in Splash! Spring 2012 (Apr. 21 - 22, 2012)
If God is all-good and all-powerful, then why is there pain and suffering in the world? For centuries philosophers and theologians have struggled with this question. But so has anyone who has experienced the reality of pain. In this course, we'll explore some of their explanations, ranging from a rejection of the concept of God to theodicies defending Him. We welcome students of all beliefs and backgrounds to join us.

M206: Excursions into Chaos in Splash! Fall 2008 (Oct. 18, 2008)
This course will discuss the mathematics of Chaos theory. It will introduce the idea of sensitive dependance, how it applies to mappings, and the idea of the Butterfly Effect. Other topics may include applications, fractals, attractors, and analyzing time series
