R3124: The Poetry of the Land: Ecology, Poetry, Postcolonial Theory in Splash! Fall 2013 (Nov. 02 - 03, 2013)
In this class, the quotidian aspects of ecology and postcolonial thought will become apparent to students through the poetry of Latin American writers like Pablo Neruda and Gioconda Belli. Students will see the connections between sustainable living and decolonization while learning about both the philosophy of ecology and the basics of postcolonial theory. In addition, students will get to taste 20th century Latin American poetry.
