Brief Biographical Sketch:
Before working at Stanford, Alex Quan was a teacher in public and charter schools in San Francisco and Oakland where he has taught math, history and Mandarin immersion at the secondary level. In addition, he has served as a program leader to facilitate experiential education trips for study abroad and international school programs across China. After graduating from the University of Southern California and Loyola Marymount University, he started out in education through Teach for America. He has also worked in Shanghai and Shenzhen and is fluent in Mandarin and proficient in Cantonese.
