Brief Biographical Sketch:

Hi! My name is Laney and I'm a freshman this year. I'm from Weston, Wisconsin, and I love drawing, embroidery, makeup, music, and fashion. I'm thinking about studying Public Policy, Psychology, Education, or Economics during my time here at Stanford.

I'm so excited to be teaching my first class at SPLASH this year, "Embroidering and Talking About Life"! Embroidery is one of my favorite ways to produce art, and I'm overjoyed to be teaching two sections of students the expressive and stress relieving skill of hand-embroidery. I can't wait to be a part of the SPLASH event and meet all of my students and fellow teachers!

L6650: Embroidering and Talking About Life in Splash Fall 2018 (Dec. 01 - 02, 2018)
Students will learn how to hand embroider using a simple back stitch. We will be stitching a Stanford-related design -- pre-patterned embroidery hoops and supplies (needles and embroidery floss) will be offered! While embroidering together, we will talk about academics, hobbies, our backgrounds, or just LIFE, wherever that conversation may go. This is meant to be a chill event where students can learn the simple but very calming and anxiety-relieving skill of hand embroidery, enjoy each others' company, and bring home a completed embroidery project from Stanford!
