B2483: Genetic Counseling: What's in your genes? in Splash! Fall 2012 (Nov. 03 - 04, 2012)
Does the term "genetic counseling" make you think of the movie Gattaca or designer babies? What does a genetic counselor actually do? This class will answer this question by introducing students to an exciting profession that combines the fields of medicine, genetics, psychology, and ethics. This class will explore the different roles genetic counselors play in various settings and review real case examples of genetic counseling sessions to give participants the opportunity to explore this interesting career path.
