Brief Biographical Sketch:

I am a senior majoring in Computer Science - Biocomputation track at Stanford. For the past two quarters, I studied abroad at Oxford and did tutorials on Biophysics. Before that, I did computational research on protein-ligand binding predictions for two years at Stanford and I interned at Merck last summer. I was also a public speaking tutor and I absolutely enjoy talking to students and learning together.

B7254: Drug Discovery Odyssey in Splash Spring 2019 (May. 04 - 05, 2019)
“Imagine running a maze that may have more than two dimensions, a huge number of entry points, and a very small number of exits or perhaps no exit at all,” describes Eugene Cordes, a former Merck scientist, about the drug discovery process. In this class, we will go over the process of drug discovery with concrete examples, why it is so expensive and time-consuming, and what are some exciting improvements.
